probable scam - claiming to be from tax office - saying if you dont press 1 you will be arrested for tax fraud

I spoke to someone who had no idea who I was or was able to provide me with any information. I told them if it was legitimate then HMRC would send mail, and that HMRC did not have my telephone number, result is they hung up on me, therefore proving it is fraudulent. Please do not be fooled and if you are unsure then tell them to send you a letter. Answer machine was in American and was an Indian speaker, screams fraud to me! Don’t be fooled, be very wary, HMRC would NEVER call you on the telephone unless it was an ongoing case and you had supplied them with your number, how else would they find your number? Same as the email scam that’s claiming to be HMRC, I called them direct and they had no idea what I was talking about and that it was a fraudulent email generically sent by scammers. Always check your mobile browser, if it goes through loads of url’s before you get to the site you are being directed to then 9 times out of 10 that’s how the grab your details and generate the scams, please be very careful of what details you give them if you do speak to them, they called me but couldn’t even give me my name or telephone number, you would have to be really naive to fall for this

Said from HMRC. If I didn't call them back, a warrant would be issued for my arrest!
